Na pr\u00f3xima semana, uma comitiva do nosso Agrupamento parte rumo \u00e0 Alemanha para uma nova etapa do projeto Erasmus+ “She STEMs the future \u2013 Gender Equality through STEM Education”. A mobilidade ter\u00e1 lugar na Gemeinschaftsschule Althengstett, onde alunos e docentes de v\u00e1rios pa\u00edses se reunir\u00e3o para partilhar conhecimentos e estrat\u00e9gias que visam promover a igualdade de g\u00e9nero nas \u00e1reas das ci\u00eancias e tecnologias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Um dos momentos desta mobilidade ser\u00e1 o workshop “Best Practices for Gender-Inclusive STEM Activities”. Para este desafio, as nossas alunas t\u00eam-se preparado intensamente sob a orienta\u00e7\u00e3o da Professora Maria Castro, docente de F\u00edsica e Qu\u00edmica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O foco da prepara\u00e7\u00e3o foi um desafio pr\u00e1tico de engenharia ambiental: a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um “filter system” (sistema de filtragem) funcional. Utilizando apenas recursos limitados e rudimentares \u2014 como tecido, areia e carv\u00e3o \u2014 as alunas foram desafiadas a purificar \u00e1gua “suja”, replicando o que poderia ser uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de emerg\u00eancia em cen\u00e1rios de crise h\u00eddrica. Esta atividade permitiu \u00e0s alunas n\u00e3o s\u00f3 aplicar conceitos de separa\u00e7\u00e3o de misturas, mas tamb\u00e9m desenvolver compet\u00eancias de lideran\u00e7a e resolu\u00e7\u00e3o de problemas. No projeto “She STEMs the Future”, o objetivo \u00e9 claro: demonstrar que o talento cient\u00edfico n\u00e3o tem g\u00e9nero e que as raparigas t\u00eam um papel fundamental na constru\u00e7\u00e3o de solu\u00e7\u00f5es sustent\u00e1veis para o planeta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Em Althengstett, as nossas alunas ter\u00e3o a oportunidade de apresentar este projeto, comparando resultados com colegas europeus e discutindo como a ci\u00eancia pode ser mais inclusiva e motivadora para todos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta mobilidade refor\u00e7a a nossa vis\u00e3o de uma educa\u00e7\u00e3o que vai al\u00e9m da sala de aula. Ao participarem nestas experi\u00eancias internacionais, as nossas alunas regressar\u00e3o com horizontes alargados, maior confian\u00e7a nas suas capacidades STEM e uma consci\u00eancia renovada sobre a import\u00e2ncia da cidadania europeia e da igualdade de oportunidades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heading Out to Germany: The “She STEMs the Future” Project Bets on Innovation and Inclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next week, a delegation from our School Group will depart for Germany for the next stage of the Erasmus+ project, “She STEMs the Future \u2013 Gender Equality through STEM Education”. The mobility will take place at Gemeinschaftsschule Althengstett, where students and teachers from several countries will gather to share knowledge and strategies aimed at promoting gender equality within the fields of science and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of this trip will be the workshop “Best Practices for Gender-Inclusive STEM Activities”. To prepare for this challenge, our students have been working intensively under the guidance of Professor Maria Castro, our Physics and Chemistry teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focus of their preparation was a practical environmental engineering challenge: the creation of a functional “filter system”. Using only limited and rudimentary resources\u2014such as cloth, sand, and charcoal\u2014the students were tasked with purifying “dirty” water, replicating a potential emergency solution for water crisis scenarios. This activity allowed the students not only to apply concepts of mixture separation but also to develop leadership and problem-solving skills. Within the “She STEMs the Future” project, the objective is clear: to demonstrate that scientific talent has no gender and that girls play a fundamental role in building sustainable solutions for the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Althengstett, our students will have the opportunity to present this project, comparing their results with European peers and discussing how science can become more inclusive and motivating for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This mobility reinforces our vision of an education that goes far beyond the classroom. By participating in these international experiences, our students will return with broader horizons, greater confidence in their STEM abilities, and a renewed awareness of the importance of European citizenship and equal opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
