Empower You – Day 1 – From Oporto to Pisa e Firenze (Italy)

Our adventure in Italy begun at 5am in airport “Francisco Sã Carneiro”. We boarded at 6:30 am but the flight got delayed due to atmospheric conditions.
At 10:40 am we landed in Pisa and what really surprised us the most was the hot weather that we felt, 33 degrees.
We walked from the train station to the piazza del Duomo carrying our heavy backpacks. As we appreciated the beautiful views of the city we noticed that it was packed with tourists.
The weather quickly got hotter reaching 40 degrees, than we stoped at “Bar & Food 62” to taste one of the most popular dishes in Italy, “Pizza”.
That we went back to piazza del Duomo to visit the gardens and monuments.
We also saw the botanical garden, it was founded in 1490 by the doctor Luca Ghini and was the first Botanical Garden linked to an University, of the World.
At 4:32 pm we took the train from pisa centrale to firenze santa maria novela.
We walked from the train station to our hostel “Blue Garden” it was a thought path because we chose the longest route to our hostel.
We arrived at 6:30 pm and rested for a while before visiting the city of firenze.
we visited the beautiful streets of firenze and saw the Duomo were a man was playing beautiful songs in his piano and other people were singing. We also went to “La Carraia” a beautiful “gelataria” in one of the streets of Firenze, we tried talking Italiano with the man that as serving the ice cream. Everyone had an ice cream and last but not least we had the opportunity to see the best view from Firenze from the top of the citie, at night with all the lights turn on.
