This saturday we took a train to Avignon. We were very excited to explore the city, especially the Palais des Papes and the famous Pont Saint Bénézet. However, our plans were quickly derailed because it started to rain heavily. The storm forced us to abandon our original itinerary. Instead of visiting the inside of the palace and the bridge, we only had time to see some local markets. Despite the disappointment, the journey by train offered us beautiful views and we still appreciated the charm of Avignon and the souvenirs made from lavender.
