On August 13th, the Leadership and Team Building group began their daily journey sharing an intercultural breakfast (Portuguese and German), resulting in a diverse and abundant meal. During this time of sharing, life experiences related to the culture of each country were reported.
We then went to Beelen town hall, where we were received by its vice-president, the person responsible for projects and clubs and the regional communications secretary.
During the morning we were also able to visit a primary school, where a week of “Kinderferienwoche” summer activities are taking place, aimed at the little ones, in which around 100 children take part, based on the work of around 20 volunteers (from 18 to 30 years of age) responsible for promoting and implementing a very wide range of activities. This initiative was very inspiring due to the fact that it was young people organizing many children’s week, based on the spirit of dedication and extreme generosity.
A shared lunch followed at the Youth Center facilities, and after lunch we visited the town of Warendorf, a typically German village in the interior, fifteen minutes away by train. During the afternoon, the time was used to carry out a set of three different activities, extremely interesting, for the development of Team Building concepts, such as trust, cooperation, friendship and team spirit, totally related to our project, Leadership and Team Building.
An extraordinary day for our growth, as participatory beings in building a better and more sustainable future that we desire.
