Today, August 13th, was our first day in the city of Bilbao. We started the day by having a meeting with the city’s police and fire lieutenant, to understand how the city works socially. At this meeting, the lieutenant spoke about all the funds provided to all the disadvantaged, which delved deeper into the topic of social enterprise.
“This is a worrying topic, it takes a lot of time to discuss social action” Lieutenant
For her, this issue is alarming because, even with financial and housing support, there are many disadvantaged people who do not respect the rules due to consumption and addictions.
Then, we went by bus to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, where it was possible to see, from the outside, Puppy and a sculpture of a spider, which are some of the attractions of this city.
After lunch, we took the opportunity to get to know a little more of the city, where we saw several structures such as the Santiago de Bibao Cathedral, Mercado de la Ribera, Viszcaya Suspension Bridge, Museum of Fine Arts and some of the main streets.
