Isabel Alberto, Manuela Marques and Maria de Fátima Pereira, teachers from Agrupamento de Escolas Terras do Ave in Portugal travelled to Eindhoven – City of Light to do jobshadowing in five schools that embrace Brainport Education.The kick-off was with a visit to Brainport, where we were explained how companies, local authorities, educational and knowledge institutions started working together and became a technological and innovative power. The region coordinator Hans Vass prepared all job shadowing week and gave us a precious daily support.We visited EBS Online Evangelische, Jan Van Brabant College, Basisschool’t Slingertouw, Basisschool De Heicker and Jenaplan school De Driestam. All schools have different operation but they share the same enthusiasm to provide creative and a learning attitude leading to talent development. As Brainport schools they want to give students tools to be successful in the world and face its challenges.We had a warm welcome in all hostess schools. The teachers were very helpful and enthusiastic sharing their experience, methodology, materials and class routines. We’re also able to interact with children with so many different nationalities.We got very inspired by all this context-rich dynamics and eager to share them in our school. In addition, all the natural landscapes, a rich cultural and historical heritage provided us an unique experience.The light radiates in this multicultural region and, therefore, it was an adventure that exceeded our expectations.
