Back on the train, we headed to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. In addition to seeing the Hungarian House of Music, a building with efficient heating and cooling technology, this building won the Best Use of Music award in the Real Estate Development category at the 2020 American Music Cities Awards. The Hungarian House of Music is considered a sustainable solution due to its innovative design that integrates nature and promotes energy efficiency. The project, by architect Sou Fujimoto, utilizes natural light, natural ventilation, and rainwater harvesting to reduce energy consumption. Furthermore, the parallel-slatted facade allows trees to grow and integrate with the structure, creating a harmonious environment. And of course, we couldn’t miss a dip in Budapest’s iconic thermal pools, which use geothermally heated water for therapeutic and tourism purposes
