World Savings Day, celebrated on 31 October, is dedicated to promoting awareness of the importance of saving, both to ensure people’s financial security and to strengthen the global economy. This day aims to encourage responsible savings habits and financial management, raising public awareness about the positive impact that small changes can bring in the long run.

In the context of the Erasmus+ project, “A Peaceful Life with Nature in a Sustainable Future,” activities focused on sustainable practices were developed, with a special emphasis on saving water and paper and combating food waste. With the aim of fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, the activities included interactive workshops on:

Water Conservation: Through workshops and practical challenges, participants learnt the importance of conserving water, adopting practices such as reducing shower time, using water efficiently in daily tasks, and reusing it wherever possible. The objective was to reduce unnecessary consumption and preserve this vital resource.

Paper Conservation: In educational activities, students were encouraged to reduce paper usage by promoting digital alternatives whenever possible. Recycling and paper reuse methods were also introduced to reduce waste and decrease the need for new raw materials.

Combating Food Waste: To raise awareness about the importance of avoiding waste, informational sessions and workshops were organised, focusing on using all parts of food, proper storage techniques, and recipes that use leftovers. These initiatives help to reduce waste and promote a more conscious approach to consumption.

Through these activities, our students were encouraged to adopt sustainable habits that contribute to environmental preservation and a more balanced, conscious lifestyle. This is the spirit of World Savings Day: to promote actions that, though simple, can create a positive and lasting impact, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
